Cut the block of cheese into bite-sized cubes (about 1-inch cubes). If you prefer, you can use string cheese and cut it into pieces.
2. Set Up the Breading Station:
In one shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
In a second shallow bowl, whisk the eggs.
In a third shallow bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
3. Bread the Cheese Bites:
Dip each cube of cheese into the flour mixture, making sure it’s well coated.
Next, dip the floured cheese into the beaten eggs, covering it completely.
Finally, coat the egg-covered cheese with the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure they stick.
4. Fry the Cheese Bites:
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. The oil is hot enough when a small piece of bread dropped in sizzles and turns golden.
Carefully add the breaded cheese bites to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
Remove the cheese bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
5. Serve:
Serve the fried cheese bites warm with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce.
