Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Assemble the Casserole:
In the prepared baking dish, dump the frozen meatballs, followed by the uncooked pasta.
Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatballs and pasta, ensuring everything is covered.
Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the top, to taste.
Add the ricotta cheese (if using) by spooning it in small dollops over the casserole, then spread the mozzarella cheese evenly on top. Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
3. Bake:
Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown.
4. Serve:
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and enjoy your comforting, cheesy casserole!
