Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.

2. Prepare the Casserole Mixture:

  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, cooked rice, and thawed broccoli.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, and chicken broth. Stir until everything is well combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Assemble the Casserole:

  • Pour the chicken mixture into the prepared 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.

4. Add the Topping (Optional):

  • If you’re using a cracker or breadcrumb topping, melt the butter in a small bowl and stir in the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the casserole for a crispy, golden topping.

5. Bake the Casserole:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, and the cheese on top is melted and golden brown.

6. Serve:

  • Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. It’s delicious on its own or served with a side salad or garlic bread.
