Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using a refrigerated pie crust, let it come to room temperature while you prepare the filling.
2. Cook the ground beef:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked, breaking it up into small crumbles as it cooks.
Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
3. Add seasonings:
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine, and then remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
4. Prepare the pie crust:
Roll out one of the pie crusts and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges.
Poke a few holes in the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent it from bubbling up while baking.
5. Make the egg mixture:
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir to combine.
6. Assemble the pie:
Pour the ground beef mixture into the prepared pie crust and spread it evenly.
Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the beef, spreading it evenly over the top.
7. Bake:
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown and set in the middle. You may want to check the pie around 20 minutes; if the crust edges are getting too brown, cover them with foil to prevent burning.
8. Add toppings:
In the final 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle the top of the pie with an additional 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese for extra cheesiness, if desired.
Once the pie is done, let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
9. Serve:
Serve the Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie with your favorite burger toppings, like pickles, lettuce, or a dollop of ketchup and mustard on the side.
